Closing Dagbon with Haruna Iddrisu

Closing Dagbon with Haruna Iddrisu

It is obvious that both President Mahama and VP Bawumia have run a very tireless campaign. The stakes are extremely high, and Ghana stands at a pivotal moment. In fact, throughout the history of Ghana only 2 previous elections had this level of importance.

The elections that brought Kwame Nkrumah and John Kufuor to power.

This election is promising to be the ‘Mother of All Elections.’

The NPP is making a serious play for the North and especially Northen Region. But the NDC has a gem in the Northern Region in the person of Haruna Iddrisu. A man who possesses the stamina and tenacity of Rawlings, The steadiness and sturdiness of Kufuor.

Although with age and what others describe as political maturity, he has grown into a statesman role both within the NDC party and country at large, he still possesses the vibrant political energy from his younger days even at this stage.

Dagbon promises to play a key role on December 7th both for NPP and NDC. The NDC should give the keys of Dagbon to Haruna Iddrisu to drive the bus home to the Jubilee House.

If the state of Pennsylvania was the epicenter of the American Election in 2024, then Dagbon which is increasingly becoming the meeting point of many from the South and other parts of the North could be described as the epicenter of Ghana’s election 2024. In addition, the place is becoming increasingly cosmopolitan in its view.

There is no better person than Haruna Iddrisu to close out the campaign for the NDC and ward off the threat of any inroads by the NPP at the presidential level. i.e. If only the leaders of the NDC would willfully relinquish the keys from/to Dagbon. GYE NYAME!
