The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called on Ghanaians to vote decisively in the upcoming December 7 general elections to remove the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power.
Addressing a crowd at the NDC’s final campaign rally held at Zurak Park in Madina, Greater Accra Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang delivered her message passionately in the Ga language. Rallying the supporters, she invoked the phrase, "Moko Aya Ne Moko Aba"—translated as "someone must leave for another to come."
"For the good of Ghana, the NPP must be shown the exit," she declared. She urged voters to choose John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, promising a better future under their leadership.
Highlighting Mahama’s leadership qualities, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang described him as a respectful and compassionate leader, contrasting this with what she characterized as the NPP’s poor governance and economic mismanagement.
“There will be nothing to show for the country if the NPP remains in power,” she warned, stressing the urgency of electing a government capable of addressing the challenges facing Ghanaians.
The NDC running mate also urged party supporters to show up in large numbers on election day, emphasizing that their votes would secure a brighter future for Ghana. “A vote for John Mahama is a vote for Ghana’s future,” she affirmed.
With the elections just days away, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s rallying call underscored the NDC’s determination to reclaim power and chart a new course for the nation.
