The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has issued a strong warning against any attempts to manipulate the results of the December 7 elections, urging all stakeholders to uphold the principles of democracy.
Delivering his final campaign address at Zurak Park in Madina on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Mr. Mahama cautioned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission against foul play and urged the security services to resist any unlawful activities that could undermine the integrity of the elections.
“I want to caution the NPP administration, the security services, and the entire body of people who are in charge of supervising this election.
“I urge you to resist the nefarious actions that some people are planning,” he declared to an energized crowd.
Mr. Mahama called on Ghanaians and NDC supporters to remain vigilant at polling stations, assuring them that the party would work hard to ensure that every vote is counted and protected.
“To the people of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress will go to the polling station with you. Together, we will police and courageously protect our votes and resist all attempts to steal them,” he emphasized.
Urging voters to turn out in large numbers, Mr. Mahama reiterated the importance of this election as a decisive moment for the country's future.
“My fellow Ghanaians, I cannot do this alone. Your vote is your voice, your vote is your power, and your vote is your key to unlocking a better future for the good people of Ghana. I urge you to take action on Saturday.
“This is not a decision we can leave for another time. It is not a decision we can leave for another election or another generation. This is our moment, and the time is now to bring about the change we need in order to reset Ghana,” he passionately declared.
