President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the December 7 election.
Speaking at the NPP’s final rally at the Legon Sports Stadium, Akufo-Addo highlighted Bawumia’s readiness to steer Ghana through the challenges of the future, particularly in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
“This election is about the future development of our country,” Akufo-Addo stated.
He added, “Vote for someone who knows how to survive the 4th Industrial Revolution—a leader who understands what it takes to succeed in this rapidly changing world. Dr. Bawumia has a clear plan for Ghana’s progress.”
The President expressed his belief in Bawumia’s ability to build on the foundation laid by the NPP government over the past eight years.
He emphasised that the Vice President’s experience in digital innovation, economic management, and governance makes him the best choice for the presidency.
“Bawumia is well prepared to take over from me,” Akufo-Addo declared, urging voters to trust the NPP to lead Ghana into a brighter and more advanced future.
Akufo-Addo also cautioned Ghanaians against voting for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He accused Mahama of having a record of poor governance, including economic mismanagement, abandoned infrastructure projects, and high unemployment rates.
“His record is one of failure. Mahama presided over a collapsing economy and rising unemployment. His return to power would only take us backward,” Akufo-Addo warned.
He reiterated that Ghana’s future depends on electing a leader with the vision and capability to navigate global challenges and opportunities, adding that Bawumia is uniquely positioned to deliver that leadership.
“Let us protect the gains we’ve made and ensure a prosperous future by voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on December 7,” the President said.
