I Prefer Eight Years To Four Years: Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Vrs Mr. John Mahama

The 2024 general elections are just three days to the D-day and the people of the North have opportunity to choose one out of their two sons to lead Ghana in 2025. One son has served Ghana as a President for four years and was voted out in 2016 and he has only four years to lead Ghana if and when he wins the election. On the other hand, one has never been President of Ghana before and he has opportunity to be president for eight years.

The opportunity is presented to the people of the North to wisely choose between the two to further bridge the gap between the North and South. Who do we choose to lead us? Are we going for four years or eight years?

I, as a Northerner, prefer eight years to four years. Mr. John Mahama once said that four years were not enough to develop the country and he has only four years now to lead Ghana if he wins power. So, it is not out of order to choose eight years of H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over four years of H. E. Mr. John Mahama because his own statement has caught up with him.

With this attestation made by Mr. John Mahama in 2016, one wonders what he is really up to. He knows in his mind that as a President for just four years, he cannot make any meaningful contributions to the development of the country.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with the potential to serve for eight years is better preferred to rule Ghana. He has presented his bold solutions to the people of Ghana and he is ready to handle the affairs of the nation from the very day he assumes office as President of Ghana. There is no need to gamble. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia does not need any honeymoon unlike Mr. John Mahama.

Dear people of the North, you know the one who has the potential to be your president for the next eight years. This opportunity presented to the people of the North is a rare one. It might not present itself in many years to come. Vote wisely!

Judging from the sterling performance of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a Vice President, one can comfortably conclude that he is better placed to lead Ghana. Obviously, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best Vice President ever in the history of the Fourth Republic and he will be the best President of Ghana.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with the blessings of his boss has more than 33 policy initiatives to his credit. He has supported his boss to implement policies and projects Mr. John Mahama as a President could not implement. Mr. John Mahama as a President failed to listen to the over 40-year old cry of the good people of Gonjaland for a region. Dr. Bawumia and his boss have honoured the people of the North with two more regions. This has come with massive development across the area. Dr. Bawumia will do more as a President for all the people in the North and Ghana in general.

Dear Mr. John Mahama, your brother, Dr. Bawumia represents the hopes and aspirations of the people of the North. He represents the future. Give him the chance to also assume the highest office of the land to deliver his bold solutions for the future of Ghana. As a statesman, your wise counsel to your brother will be considered as he drives this nation for the next eight years.
