Election 2024: NDC’s Fit for Change team screen voters to stay healthy ahead of December 7

The National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s Fit For Change Medical Outreach Team has been touring constituencies nationwide to provide free health screening for voters, ensuring a healthier electorate ahead of the December 7 elections.

Led by former Presidential Staffer Mr. Peter Bamfo, the team has visited several constituencies in the Greater Accra Region, including Tema East, Odododiodio, Korle-Klottey, Ledzokuku, Okaikwei Central, Okaikwei North, and Ayawaso West Wuogon. The outreach has also extended to Agotime-Ziope, Ketu North, and Ketu South constituencies in the Volta Region, among others.

As the 2024 election campaign intensifies, this youth-driven group of medical professionals and volunteers aligned with the NDC has leveraged the Fit For Change initiative to offer free medical checkups, blood pressure and diabetes screenings, health education, and party paraphernalia to constituents.

The initiative has been lauded by parliamentary candidates and beneficiaries alike, who have expressed gratitude to NDC flagbearer John Mahama and the team for their support.

Mr. Bamfo emphasized that the program's goal is to ensure the general population is fit and healthy for the upcoming elections.

Josh Agbenu, the Programmes Coordinator for the Fit For Change Campaign, highlighted the initiative's success in raising awareness about the importance of regular health checkups. He also hinted at plans to extend the outreach screenings beyond the election period, ensuring lasting health benefits for Ghanaians.
