Security expert Dr. Adam Bonaa has called for the immediate identification and arrest of security officers who allegedly took pictures of their ballot papers during the Special Voting exercise on Monday, December 2.
Images of thumb-printed ballot papers surfaced on social media shortly after the exercise, sparking widespread concerns about voter confidentiality.
Reacting to the incident on TV3, Dr. Bonaa stressed the importance of upholding electoral rules and called for decisive action against those involved.
“These officers should be arrested and dealt with,” he stated emphatically.
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, expressed gratitude to security personnel, media representatives, and Electoral Commission staff for their reported support during the special voting exercise.
In a social media post, Mahama said, “I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming assurance my team and I received from you.”
Looking ahead to the December 7 general elections, the former president urged voters to remain hopeful about the possibility of change.
“I urge you to be of good cheer because the new era to reset our country beckons. Thank you for opting for change,” he shared on Facebook.
