The Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has expressed confidence in Ghana’s ability to conduct yet another peaceful and credible general election.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, made this assertion in a social media post following his observation of the special voting exercise on Monday, December 2.
According to him, the calm and orderly nature of the special voting process reflects the country’s commitment to democratic principles.
“Yesterday, I observed the special voting exercise at some polling stations in the Manhyia South constituency,” he noted. “The generally calm and peaceful atmosphere strongly indicate what we are to expect on Saturday.”
Dr. Opoku Prempeh commended Ghana for its longstanding tradition of governance through the ballot box, emphasizing that the nation remains a beacon of hope for democracy on the African continent.
“Ghana, certainly, will once again uphold its reputation as a champion of governance through the ballot box—a true beacon of democracy!” he affirmed.
The special voting exercise, which catered to security personnel, electoral officials, and media practitioners, was held across the country except in the Eastern and Western regions, in preparation for the December 7 general elections.
