The Executive Director of Think Twice Africa Consult, an expert and consultant on societal pressures, has urged the Ministry of Interior to impose a temporary ban on alcohol sales during and two days after the declaration of election results.
According to him, the heightened political tensions in the country necessitate such a measure to maintain peace and order even after the elections.
He further appealed to all Ghanaians to accept the election results with an open heart and refrain from mocking the losing party and its supporters.
“Teasing creates unnecessary pressure, which can lead to severe consequences such as suicide, heart attacks, or extreme emotional distress,” he warned.
The Executive Director also cautioned against excessive celebrations by the winning party. “Extreme jubilation often results in accidents, including speeding and other risky behaviors. Ghanaians must recognize that both happiness and sadness come with their own consequences and must act responsibly,” he advised.
He called on all citizens to prioritize unity and peace during this critical period, stressing the need to be guided by moderation in both victory and defeat.
