President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has criticized National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama's proposed "24-hour economy" policy, describing it as vague and lacking substance.

The President contended that Mahama offers no new solutions to Ghana's challenges and urged voters to reject him in the upcoming presidential election on Saturday, December 7.

Addressing religious and traditional leaders, along with New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, during a campaign stop in the Tema West constituency, President Akufo-Addo championed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best candidate to lead Ghana forward.

He highlighted the NPP’s track record of innovative policies and effective governance, emphasizing that continuity under Bawumia's leadership would ensure sustained progress and development for the nation.

“What is he [John Dramani Mahama] coming to do? 24-hour economy. You couldn’t keep the lights on in the four years in which you were in power for 12 hours a day.

“How are you going to run a 24-hour economy when 12 hours a day, you couldn’t keep the lights on? You couldn’t pay the teacher training allowance. You couldn’t pay nurses training allowance.”
