Alhaji Jalali Yunusah, an Executive Member of Health4uy, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Germany with a branch in Ghana, has donated medical equipment to the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region.
The donation, aimed at improving healthcare in the area, included hospital beds, crutches, and medication, intended to help alleviate the issue of "no bed syndrome" in local hospitals.
Presenting the items, Alhaji Yunusah explained that the donation is part of Health4uy's social responsibility to ensure that residents of Wenchi and surrounding communities have access to quality healthcare, particularly hospital beds.
He also revealed that the NGO plans to continue such donations to other health facilities and encouraged healthcare workers to give their best in their efforts to save lives.
Alhaji Musah Fuseini, a member of Health4uy and a well-known figure in the community, noted that the organization has previously donated similar items to other MPs, health facilities in various Zongo communities across Accra, and even to the office of former President John Dramani Mahama.
He took the opportunity to encourage Ghanaians, particularly those in the Zongo communities, to make regular health checks a habit and to lead healthier lifestyles.
Alhaji Baban Gida, a former aspirant in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and another member of Health4uy, called on Ghanaians to adopt sustainable practices, including proper waste disposal and hygiene habits such as handwashing with soap.
He also urged other philanthropists and NGOs in Ghana to support health facilities, especially those in deprived areas, to improve local healthcare.
Receiving the items on behalf of the MP, Muktar Alhassan, a Research Assistant to the MP, and Abdul Samad Yakubu, a Member of the Council of Elders for Wenchi NDC, expressed their gratitude to Alhaji Yunusah and the NGO for their generous support. They assured that the items would be put to good use for the benefit of the local community.
