The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has announced that Parliament will reconvene on Monday, December 16.
In a notice, the Speaker said the seventh meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament will take place at a place to be decided in due course.
“Pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that, the Seventh Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence on Monday, the 16th Day of December, 2024
“At Ten O'clock in the forenoon at a place to be appointed by the Speaker in due course,” the Speaker of Parliament said in the notice dated December 2.
The notice comes after the Speaker of Parliament earlier rejected a recall request from the Majority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
The MP for Effutu had appealed to the Speaker to recall Parliament to sit for two days to consider urgent government business.
The Speaker rejected the request but assured that Parliament will reconvene after the December 7 election.
