During a thanksgiving service held at St. Cyprian's Anglican Church in Kumasi on November 24, 2024, an Anglican priest appeared visibly shaken as he prayed for the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and his wife, Lady Julia Osei Tutu.
The service was part of the 100th-anniversary commemoration of King Prempeh I's return from exile. It also marked the climax of the 25th-anniversary celebrations of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's reign.
In a video that has since gone viral, the priest is seen trembling the moment he laid hands on the Asantehene during the solemn prayer session.
Otumfuo, draped in a regal white traditional cloth, stood alongside Lady Julia as the congregation witnessed the moment with reverence.
The grand event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the President of Seychelles, the Prime Minister of Eswatini, and Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, adding to the historical significance of the occasion.
