A young Ghanaian woman has shared her ordeal of blackmail after a supposed business deal took a dark turn.
In an emotional recount on an Accra-based Kasapa FM, the woman, name placed on ice, explained how she was lured into a precarious situation by a man posing as a benefactor.
According to her, she is a businesswoman who leverages social media to market her services.
One day, she was approached on TikTok by a woman claiming to offer financial support for her business. The woman directed her to a man who would allegedly provide the funding.
"When I spoke to the man, he mentioned a business proposal and asked to meet in person. I agreed, hoping this would help boost my business," she said.
The meeting took place at a hotel, but instead of discussing a legitimate business plan, the man offered GH¢2,000 in exchange for recording a naked video of her. Desperate for funds, she reluctantly agreed.
"After recording the video, he claimed he couldn’t send the money immediately because of network issues. He promised to transfer it later," she recounted.
Days went by, but the promised money never arrived. When she confronted him, he started threatening, saying he would release the explicit video if she continued to demand the payment.
Sensing danger, the woman has since reported the incident to the police, seeking justice and protection.
“I waited for several days but did not receive the money. When I confronted him, he threatened to leak my naked video. That's when I decided to report the matter to the police,” she stated.
