As Ghana approaches its December 7 presidential elections, a wave of prophecies has emerged from various religious leaders across the country, each claiming to have divine insight into the outcome.
Some predict a victory for former President John Dramani Mahama, while others foresee Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), securing the presidency. This divide has left many wondering which prophecies hold truth.
One of the most startling predictions has come from Prophet Emmanuel Worlasi Zogbator, head pastor at the Kumasi branch of Conquerors Chapel International. According to Prophet Zogbator, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will gain significant traction in the Ashanti Region—a traditional stronghold of the NPP—with former President Mahama emerging as the winner of the 2024 presidential race.
He further emphasized that the upcoming elections will be full of unexpected twists and surprises, with many parliamentarians losing their seats in a manner unprecedented in Ghana's Fourth Republic history. “Surely, many shocks and surprises are ahead in this election, especially in constituencies like Adenta, Sissala East, Sekondi, Hohoe, Asante Akyem North, Suhum, and Ayawaso West Wuogon. More parliamentarians will lose their seats than in any previous election in the Fourth Republic. For the first time, the NDC will gain considerable votes in the Ashanti Region, which could be a positive shift for the country,” he said.
During his appearances on media platforms, including Boss 93.7 FM’s Morning Show, Prophet Zogbator clarified that he does not affiliate with any political party. "I only declare the counsel of God as it is revealed to me. I have nothing to gain by prophesying someone’s victory or defeat. In fact, I’ve visited several constituencies across the country and have shared prophecies about who will win or lose, regardless of their political affiliations," he explained.
The prophet also reflected on his past track record, citing several prophecies he had made over the last eight years that have come to pass with striking accuracy. “I predicted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would become the flagbearer of the NPP two years before it happened, despite most people believing Alan Kyerematen would secure the position,” he recalled. Additionally, he mentioned predicting the victory of Donald Trump in the U.S. elections, as well as the strike action by drivers in Ghana, both of which occurred exactly as prophesied.
Addressing the common issue of conflicting prophecies, Prophet Zogbator referred to a biblical passage from 1 Kings 22:5-38, where many prophets foretold victory for King Ahab of Israel in his battle against Syria. However, Prophet Micaiah predicted defeat, which came true, proving him to be a true prophet. "Such occurrences have always existed since biblical times. It is only after the election results are declared that the true prophets will be revealed,” he said.
The prophet concluded by quoting from the Bible, “Remember, we see in part and we prophesy in part,” reminding his listeners that prophecies are not always complete or fully understood in the moment, but their truth is often revealed in time.
