Former Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery, Kwame Awuah Darko, has criticized the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for what he describes as a diversion from economic discussions to digitalization after failing to deliver on their economic promises.
According to Darko, the NPP's inability to fulfill its pledge to build a resilient economy has led them to shift focus toward digitalization, which he views as a smokescreen for their economic shortcomings.
Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM's political show Dwabrem on Friday, November 29, 2024, hosted by Dr. Cash, Darko argued that this pivot highlights the NPP's incompetence and makes them unfit to lead Ghana. He cautioned voters against falling for what he termed Dr. Bawumia's "sugarcoated promises," warning that another term under the NPP would be disastrous for the country.
Darko expressed confidence in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), asserting that the party is well-positioned to restore Ghana’s economic stability and growth under the leadership of its capable team. He highlighted the NDC's commitment to sustainable job creation and economic development as key pillars of its agenda.
As a prominent member of the NDC, Darko has consistently advocated for policies that prioritize long-term economic solutions, positioning the party as the best alternative for addressing Ghana’s challenges.
