Hon.Alberto Tekyi gives GHC10,000 to Prince Ayerakwa for first purchase at book launch

In a heartwarming show of support for education and creativity, Hon. Alberto Tekyi, former District Chief Executive of Wassa Amenfi West and proprietor of IBS Educational Complex, has presented a GH¢10,000 donation to renowned author Prince Ayerakwa.

This generous gesture fulfils a promise made during the launch of Ayerakwa's two books, "The Inner Harmony From a Clear Conscience" and "Street Smart, Book Smart," which took place on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, at the Asankrangwa Melody Hotel. The event was met with great enthusiasm, and the books have since gained widespread attention.

The donation stems from Mr. Tekyi's successful GH¢10,000 bid during the auction held at the book launch. Additionally, Mr. Justice Eshun, CEO of Modish Royal Montessori, purchased a copy for GH¢2,000, as did Hon. Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa, the Amenfi West NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the 2024 general elections. Several other attendees also purchased copies, contributing to the event's success. Since then, the books have garnered positive reviews from readers across various fields and locations, sparking further interest in Ayerakwa's work.

The presentation ceremony, which took place at Mr. Tekyi's office, was attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Obiri Yeboah, Mr. Edward Smith Saah, Mr. Oppong Tawiah, and Mr. Barnabas Boham. In his remarks, Mr. Tekyi emphasized the importance of nurturing talent and expressed his commitment to inspiring young people in Amenfi West to pursue their educational and creative passions.

He noted the early success of the books, highlighting the enthusiastic response from readers as a reason for his continued support. "Recognizing and supporting promising individuals in our community is crucial, and I hope this contribution inspires more people to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams," Mr. Tekyi said.

Overcome with gratitude, Mr. Ayerakwa thanked Mr. Tekyi for his generous contribution, calling it a significant milestone in the history of Wassa Amenfi West. He acknowledged that the support would not only benefit him personally but also inspire aspiring writers and artists throughout the region.

The growing success of Ayerakwa’s books, bolstered by positive reviews and increasing demand from across the country, underscores the importance of community support for local talent. This generous act highlights the impact of cultural initiatives and events in promoting local pride and fostering community development.
