A 19-member Town Council was on Wednesday inaugurated at Juaso in the Asante Akim South with a call on members to strictly enforce the district assembly bye-laws to facilitate accelerated development.
Dr. Lord Gyamfi-Fenteng, District Chief Executive, who made the call said the enforcement of the assembly's bye-laws formed an integral part of the duties of the council and must be treated as such.
The DCE noted that the basic structures of the district assembly concept was crucial to the overall performance of the assembly and charged the council to justify the confidence reposed in it.
Dr. Gyamfi-Fenteng entreated them to work in partnership with the chiefs and other stakeholders to ensure effective co-operation in the discharge of their duties.
He implored the council to priorities environmental sanitation and also live above reproach.
Yaw Owusu, chairman of the council assured the assembly of the council's preparedness to complement its efforts in facilitating development and called on the assembly to provide the necessary logistics to enhance their performance.
