Bernard Allotey Jacobs, dismissed National Democratic Congress (NDC) Central Regional Chairman, has accused Speaker Alban Bagbin of declaring vacant seats in Parliament to undermine New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Jacobs alleges that Bagbin's decision is a "sinister move" intended to stir unrest and disrupt Bawumia’s path to victory in the upcoming December 7 election.
Speaking on Peace FM’s "Kokrokoo" morning show, he argued that the parliamentary standoff sparked by Bagbin’s declaration is a calculated attempt to cause public agitation as the election draws closer.
“There is something underneath this decision that has been taken by the Speaker of Parliament. There is a devil in it, and that devil is to use the constitution… as a bullet to fire the current government; to create chaos and anarchy,” Jacobs stated, emphasizing his belief that Ghanaians would see through the lines.
Jacobs further insisted that no propaganda by the opposition, including those of Speaker Bagbin, would derail Bawumia’s campaign.
According to him, Ghana requires "visionary leaders" who can “think outside the box,” asserting that Bawumia embodies this forward-thinking leadership.
“The time is up…as a nation, we need good leaders… who can think beyond the box to lead this country, and that is why a lot of Ghanaians are supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. You cannot use these parliamentary wranglings to undermine his victory,” he expressed.
