The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has stated that casting a vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate is the same as endorsing the ongoing economic challenges in the country.
He made this assertion during a community engagement in Enchi, within the Aowin constituency, as he launched his campaign tour of the Western North Region.
Mr. Mahama argued that supporting Bawumia would be a vote for the continuation of poor governance, pointing out the economic difficulties that have persisted under Bawumia’s tenure as Vice President.
He emphasised, “A vote for Bawumia means you are happy with the mismanagement of our finances, our increased debt stock, and the current sufferings. And so if you are displeased with what is happening, you’ll have to vote them out of office.”
The former President also highlighted the struggles faced by Ghanaians, including business owners who continue to witness sluggish growth due to the tough economic conditions.
He reiterated his stance that the current state of the economy has made life difficult for many citizens, urging voters to choose a different path in the upcoming elections.
He has promised that as President, his government will address the current challenges and build the Ghana every Ghanaian wants.
