We'll jail Ken Ofori Atta even if he dies and 58 others; they can burn their ministries, we still have all documents — Gbande

The Deputy General Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande has said 59 appointees of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will surely go to jail.

He indicated that the former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and 58 other ministers have been investigated and approved as candidates for jail if NDC wins the 2024 general elections.

During an exclusive interview with Onua FM today, Mr. Gbande blames grand corruption on the economic crisis facing the country.

According to him, former President John Mahama left a buoyant economy for the NPP to easily develop the country.

He indicated that the current appointees supervised by President Akufo-Addo have amassed wealth without thinking twice.

He noted that the NDC will retrieve all the stolen monies the NPP appointees have stashed in their homes.

“We have investigated 58 government appointees who have stolen huge sums of money belonging to the State. They can burn the Ministries, they can burn documents, we have the docket already. We have investigated them.

“We will jail Ken Ofori Atta even if he dies. If John Mahama doesn’t jail Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghanaians will rise up against him. Ken and 58 others will be prosecuted. They have stolen the money and Nana Addo has supervised him," he stated.
