The Presidential Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has vehemently dismissed claims that he would allow Fulanis to destroy farmers' crops if elected President in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
During a rally in the Ejura-Sekyeredumase Constituency, Dr. Bawumia addressed the rumours head-on, indicating that such claims were entirely baseless and false.
He described the assertions as propaganda spread by political opponents seeking to discredit him.
"I’ve heard propaganda circulating to the effect that I will permit Fulanis to destroy your farms if I become president. These claims are all falsehoods, it will not happen, so reject them," Dr. Bawumia told his supporters, urging them not to believe the fabricated stories.
The Vice President reassured the farmers in the region that their interests would always be protected under his leadership, stressing that these allegations were attempts to cause disaffection for him.
Bawumia took the opportunity to rally support not just for himself, but also for the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Ejura-Sekyeredumase Constituency, Ms. Gifty Ndoma.
He called on the party faithful to unite and vote for the NPP to ensure continued progress and development.
