The National Democratic Congress (NDC) introduced a bold proposal to establish a 24-hour economy in Ghana.
This policy, according to NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama aims to shift Ghana towards a self-sufficient, export-led economy, operating on a three-shift work schedule to ensure continuous productivity.
However, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sharply criticised the proposal.
During a press conference, NPP’s National Communications Director, Richard Ahiagbah, condemned the NDC’s 24-hour economy proposal, calling it "the biggest scam in policy promise."
Mr. Ahiagbah argued that the NDC’s plan lacks clarity, substance, and credibility, questioning its feasibility in the context of Ghana’s current economic framework.
“The so-called 24-hour economy being piped by the NDC is quackery," Ahiagbah asserted.
He continued, "Ghana, let’s not be misled by the fake policy. How can they promise a 24-hour economy without first addressing the issues within our existing 12-hour economy?”
Amid ongoing debates, Ahiagbah is urging Ghanaians to critically examine the NDC’s promises.
He said Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a proven leader who has successfully implemented policies for sustainable growth.
