John Dramani Mahama, Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to deliver a decisive victory for his party in the 2024 general elections.
Mahama emphasized the need for a massive voter turnout, stating that a resounding win is crucial to achieving the transformative changes he envisions for Ghana and to avoiding post-election disputes.
Addressing supporters, he underscored the importance of vigilance throughout the electoral process. Mahama urged NDC members and allies to actively monitor every stage of the elections to safeguard their votes and ensure transparency. He likened this collective effort to "communal labor," describing it as essential for the party's success.
Framing the NDC campaign as a national movement, he called for the unwavering commitment of every supporter to "rescue" the nation from its current economic and social challenges.
Mahama also expressed concerns about judicial impartiality, alleging that the judiciary is influenced by government sympathizers. He warned that if the election results are contested, the courts might not deliver a fair ruling, further emphasizing the importance of securing an unassailable victory.
“We have to win with a huge margin so they will not even think of going to court. The courts have been packed with their people, and we may not get justice,” Mahama cautioned.
He concluded by urging his supporters to ensure victory at the polling stations, declaring, “This election, we are winning by one touch. We are not going to court.”
