The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to revolutionise Ghana’s healthcare system by leveraging advanced technology and ensuring equal access across all regions if elected President in the upcoming December 7 polls.
Dr. Bawumia emphasised his vision for a geographically well-distributed and technologically advanced healthcare system, making quality medical services accessible to every Ghanaian.
“The NPP has always cared for the health of the citizenry, and a Bawumia Presidency will do even more to move healthcare into a technology-advanced and more evenly geography-spread service easily accessible to the good people of Ghana,” he stated in a Facebook post after his campaign visits to Afigya Kwabre South, Old Tafo Pankrono, and Suame constituencies.
In addition to this vision, Dr. Bawumia announced a significant policy aimed at easing the burden on patients requiring dialysis. Starting December 1, Kidney Dialysis treatment will be provided for free under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
This decision comes after the six-month pilot of free kidney dialysis treatment under the NHIS, which successes inspired the latest expansion.
With only a few weeks to the 2024 general election, Dr. Bawumia has intensified his campaign efforts, visiting various communities and engaging with voters.
He continues to appeal to Ghanaians to trust his leadership and vote for him on December 7, promising innovative healthcare reforms and broader access to medical services.
