Paris authorities have launched an investigation into an organised robbery at a Louis Vuitton store, where thieves used a car to smash in and steal leather goods early Monday morning.

An investigation was opened in Paris on Monday into the organised robbery of a Louis Vuitton shop in the 6th arrondissement after the storefront was attacked with a ram car, confirmed by the Paris public prosecutor's office.

No suspects have been arrested at this stage, the public prosecutor's office added.

This Louis Vuitton shop – part of the LVMH group – had already been broken into on 30 September, again using a vehicle.

According to police, at around 4:30am on Monday morning "individuals broke into the shop using a vehicle to smash the window and took away goods," adding that the extent of the damage has "yet to be determined".

"Leather goods were stolen," the public prosecutor's office said, without estimating the value of the haul at this stage.

The investigation into the incident has been entrusted to the BRB anti-bandit unit of the Paris police.
