NDC NPP is bent on destroying Ghana – NDC MP Vondee
FRI, 08 NOV 2024

Hon. David Vondee, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament(MP) for Twifo Atti Morkwa Constituency in the Central Region, has asserted that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is bent on destroying the country.

While speaking to Joy News monitored by MyNewsGh.com, David Vondee chastised the NPP for refusing to show up in parliament after petitioning the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin for a recall after he adjourned it indefinitely.

While expressing his disappointment in the NPP over their refusal to show up in parliament on Thursday, David Vondee said, “It’s a shame and a financial loss the NPP is causing the State. And they are trying to punish the good people of Ghana.”

“You petitioned the Speaker to recall sitting but you sit in the comfort of your homes and never show up. It is a disturbing situation. The NPP is just bent on destroying this country finally. And also making sure we do not have a parliament and also a working constitution,” he complained.

According to David Vondee, the NPP’s refused to come to sitting because they are scared that if they come to parliament and sit at the Minority side, they will be in contempt with their own case at court.

He emphasized that their absence is causing a financial loss to the state, urgig Ghanaians to vote against the NPP come December 7 because the party has run out of ideas.

In the early hours of Thursday November 7, 2024, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, once again adjourned the house indefinitely on Thursday, November 7, after Members of Parliament (MPs) from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) failed to attend the session.

The Speaker announced that without the presence of the NPP MPs, the house could not meet the quorum needed to make decisions, besides, there was no business before the house, thus preventing any legislative action from taking place.

The absence of the NPP MPs from Parliament came as a setback for the anticipated emergency sitting, which had been convened to address pressing national issues.
