Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 elections is calling on Ghanaians to place their trust in him, promising a new era of accountability and commitment to the private sector.

Addressing attendees at the CEOs Presidential Manifesto Gala held in Accra on Thursday, November 8, the Vice President underscored his belief in the private sector as a strong force in Ghana’s economic growth.

“I strongly believe in the private sector as the engine of growth of our economy, and I reiterated my commitment to implementing my bold, business-friendly policies, to ensure the sustainable growth of the private sector, which is indispensable to the growth of the economy, when I am elected President, by the grace of God,” Dr. Bawumia stated.

The event, which gathered CEOs and prominent figures in the private sector, served as a platform for Dr. Bawumia to outline his vision for a business-friendly tax regime and policies aimed at simplifying tax processes.

Among his proposed initiatives are tax amnesty, a straightforward flat tax rate, and reforms to make filing taxes more efficient.

The NPP flagbearer also reiterated his promise to abolish the e-levy, as part of his strategy to create a more conducive environment for businesses and investors.

“With my strong commitment to the private sector, I urged the CEOs and members of the private sector to invest their trust in me, because I will be more accountable to them and Ghanaians,” he affirmed.
