Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians, urging them to support Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President.
According to Oppong Nkrumah, Bawumia represents the future of Ghana's youth and offers a better alternative than the NDC’s candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
In a video shared on his X page, the Ofoase Ayirebi lawmaker argued that Bawumia’s leadership would be instrumental in advancing the interests of young Ghanaians, especially through key policies like the free Senior High School (SHS) programme.
“We need leadership that believes and invests in the youth of Ghana. Bawumia is the best choice for Ghana’s youth and not Mahama. We need to protect and improve the free senior high school programme,” Oppong Nkrumah stated.
He criticised Mahama’s stance on free SHS, claiming that the former President does not support the policy and would ultimately cancel it.
“Mahama doesn’t believe in free SHS. He will collapse it but Bawumia will protect and improve it,” he emphasised.
Oppong Nkrumah also highlighted the importance of quality healthcare delivery, citing Bawumia’s commitment to the ongoing Agenda 111 project, which aims to establish hospitals across the country.
He suggested that Bawumia’s presidency would ensure the completion and effective utilization of these healthcare facilities, contrasting this vision with Mahama’s approach.
“We need to improve medical care for our population. Bawumia will complete the Agenda 111 project all over the country and ensure that they are put to good use for you. Mahama doesn’t believe in it, and if he doesn’t halt it, at best he will phase it if he gets the opportunity,” Oppong Nkrumah asserted.
