Dear Editor, Over the years, the activities of man have turned out to be destructive to the environment. These activities, which include indiscriminate bush burning, overgrazing and improper farming activities, have left significant portions of our land degraded.
This calls for the intensification of education on the need to plant trees, such as the exercise embarked on by the Greening Ghana Initiative.
There is also the need to promote good farming methods, like the use of organic matter to cultivate crops. Additionally, we must all adopt sound environmental practices in order not to degrade the environment.
If these are done, the environment will be well protected and it will serve the needs of all mankind for many years.
