The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa(MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, has weighed in on the campaign messaging of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to Braimah, the messaging being used by Bawumia’s team seems to suggest that President Nana Akufo-Addo has failed to meet certain leadership benchmarks.
The Bawumia campaign has centered its message for the 2024 elections around innovation, bold leadership, and vision.
This campaign strategy has largely emphasized forward-looking policies and transformative ideas.
However, the MFWA boss suggests that these attributes, when juxtaposed against the current administration, imply a lack of vision or solutions under Akufo-Addo.
“You listen to Bawumia’s team and they make you feel Akufo-Addo has been a terrible leader. ‘We need a leader with bold solutions’ ‘We need a visionary leader’ ‘We need a leader with great ideas’ etc. Does it mean Nana doesn’t have all these and that’s why we are where we are?” Braimah questioned.
