As pride goes before a fall, so does stupidity go before a defeat

When a person is full of himself, conducts himself pompously without regard for anyone and anything, he surely will fall with a big thud, hence the adage, “pride goes before a fall”.

Similarly, when one intrinsically behaves stupidly, conducts himself stupidly, that person risks a defeat in life contests.

Mr John Dramani Mahama of the umbrella family, thus, NDC, is staging a comeback to the presidency. As devoid of vision, programmes, and policies as he is, he has chosen to go off tangent but onto insulting spree.

Any least opportunity he gets mounting a campaign platform, he tries to rain insults not only on his political opponents but whole tribes.

He has insulted the intelligence of the people of the Volta region, thus the NDC stronghold, otherwise affectionately called the NDC World Bank.

He likened them to voting massively for NDC same as they gluttonously enjoy their staple food ekpwele, regardless of the prevailing conditions and however NDC administrations treat them. Therefore, they should for no reason accord some of their votes to NPP as they are contrarily seen to be doing lately.

He recently insulted the Ga people by telling them to their face that all they care about is to have kenkey, fried fish and pepper to eat. They don’t need anything else hence “digitalisation” for all they care.

Today, he is assaulting the personality of the Akans, particularly the Ashantis. He says, and I quote, “In some part of this country, when they finish eating fufu, they start behaving stupidly and vote for stupid people”.

Who is Mr Mahama addressing here if not the Ashantis? How cowardly, ignorant, and unwise he is?

Will any wise and intelligent person seeking the votes of people to help him come to power to lord himself over them say such things long before he has garnered their votes?

Is it not only a stupid person who will act the way Mr Mahama does to anger the very people he seeks their support to land his dream post? By directly demeaning them the way he does, will they rather not deny him their votes?

He still holds on to the belief that Ghanaians have a short memory so he can insult them, but they will soon forget about the pain of the insults, go to the polls on 7 December 2024, to vote massively to elect him the president of Ghana.

Any fufu, ekpwele and kenkey-eating person that votes for John Mahama to come to power to continue to insult their intelligence is indeed stupid.

Show him that you are not stupid as he takes you for but wise.

The writer will not vote for John Mahama and NDC because he is not behaving stupidly but wisely.
