The Ghana Police Service has announced the next phase of its 2024 recruitment exercise following the entrance exams, inviting successful applicants to undergo medical examinations on November 7 and 8.
Following an extensive selection process that began with a public recruitment notice in August, the GPS has reached out to shortlisted candidates through SMS notifications to schedule the mandatory medical evaluations.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, November 5, the Police Headquarters’ Public Affairs Directorate provided details about the designated examination venues in Accra, cautioning candidates about potential fraud.
The statement, signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, clarified that “all successful candidates are to take note that the cost of the medical examination is Nine Hundred and Eighty Ghana Cedis (GH¢980.00), which is the only money to be paid during this recruitment exercise.”
Medical examinations will be conducted at six locations:
1. Police Church premises near 37 Military Hospital
2. Police Church premises in Odorkor
3. Police Interdenominational Church premises at the Police Depot, Tesano
4. Formed Police Unit (FPU) Headquarters at the Police Depot, Tesano
5. Detective Training School at the Police Depot, Tesano
6. Police Academy at the Police Depot, Tesano
They advised the candidates to be vigilant, warning them against any individuals or parties requesting extra payments beyond the medical fee.
“We wish to caution the successful candidates in particular and the public in general that anyone who demands any other payment from any person should be considered a fraudster and must be reported to the Police,” stated ACP Ansah-Akrofi.
