The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has urged Ghanaians to choose leaders who prioritise long-term development over those who rely on vote-buying tactics after failing to deliver.
Speaking in Akomadan Afrancho as part of his three-day tour of the Ashanti Region, the NDC chairman criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for using deception to rule.
“We can forfeit the road we want to build from Akomadan Afrancho to Kyiraa and invest part of the money into buying cutlasses, Maggi cubes, and chicken for your votes,” he remarked.
“I believe we will have enough to buy the vote of the people here and beyond. If a party will ensure development and the other decides to neglect you and use the money to buy your votes, then we will all have to learn from them,” added Asiedu Nketiah.
He contended that the NPP has been taking their loyal supporters in the Ashanti region for granted.
“If a politician gets to know that you are very loyal, he decides to neglect you. They will rather develop areas they can’t win and take their loyalists for granted,” he said.
