Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections, reached out to Ghanaian youth in a rallying speech during the “Bawumia for Jobs” event on Sunday, November 3.
Dr. Bawumia reiterated his commitment to addressing the issues affecting the younger generation and urged them to actively participate in the upcoming elections.
Acknowledging their frustration with politics in the country, he encouraged them to make their voices heard through the power of their votes.
“I don’t blame you if you think all politicians are the same and your vote doesn’t matter,” Dr. Bawumia said. “But I can tell you, your vote makes a difference. Do not switch off, I ask you to get involved. December is about you. Vote for a leader who will serve you, not insult you.”
The event, titled, “Bawumia for Jobs” sought to offer young people a glimpse into Dr. Bawumia’s vision for job creation, economic opportunity and a more inclusive governance approach.
The NPP candidate outlined his personal commitment to listening to the youth and assured them that he would prioritize their needs.
“When I say your concerns are my top priority, I mean it,” Dr. Bawumia continued. “As I said, ‘I have my own vision and my own priorities.’ Given the opportunity to lead and govern, I should do so as my own man with the help of God. I know I have the character, the experience, and the vision to address the concerns of young people.”
Dr. Bawumia emphasized his goal of creating a government that actively involves and listens to young Ghanaians, especially Generation Z.
He urged them to support his vision, noting the key role they play in creating a prosperous future for Ghana.
“Together, we can transform Ghana. I therefore invite the youth to join me in the journey of possibilities, particularly the Gen Zs,” he said. “I have a place for you. If you vote for me, I promise to involve you. Your opinions will be heard.”
