NDC Election 2024: Vote NDC to restore dignity, integrity of Ghana’s Presidency - Youth wing
SUN, 03 NOV 2024

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing is filled with anticipation that the party and its flagbearer will win the December elections to cause change and restore dignity and integrity to the presidency.

It emphasised that accountability, transparency, and good governance would be the hallmark of the next NDC administration to be led by former President John Dramani Mahama, who is seeking a comeback, to mark a significant departure from the perceived excesses of the current administration.

Mr Okai Mintah, Chairperson of the National Youth Working Committee of the opposition NDC, who said these during a community engagement at Woe in the Anlo Constituency, was confident that Mr Mahama’s record of accomplishments, and experience made him the ideal candidate to lead Ghana out of its current challenges.

He pointed to Mr Mahama's previous achievements as President, including investments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare and said, under Mahama’s leadership, the NDC would address pressing issues such as unemployment, corruption, and economic hardship as the party had a comprehensive plan to revamp the economy, create jobs, and ensure that Ghanaians have access to quality education and healthcare.

Mr Mintah thus, asked Ghanaians to exercise some more patience, and work for NDC's victory in the upcoming elections to rescue the country from the current hardships and tax burdens like E-Levy and COVID-19 Levy.

“We have 36 days to restore the dignity and the integrity of the Office of the President… Do not be deceived, this election is not between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but between NPP and Ghanaians.”

“Do not make mistakes. Vote for a trustworthy person, vote for an honest person, vote for a reliable person and vote for an experienced person. That is John Mahama. Vote for the NDC, come 7th December 2024 and be part of the victory,” he rallied.

Mr Egypt Korbla Kudoto, Volta Regional NDC Vice Chairperson, advised people in the coastal constituency to remember who came to assist them when the tidal waves came and who built the sea defence project to save parts of their coastline, on the day of the elections.

He noted that Mr Mahama and the NDC were sensitive to the suffering of the people, including the economic hardship and should be given the nod to rescue Ghanaians, saying only the NDC could be trusted to reset the country.

Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor, Anlo Constituency Women Organiser, rallied all women to make history by voting for the NDC on December 7 to usher in Ghana's first female Vice President, and for an unprecedented economic empowerment of women to be realised through the NDC's proposed Women's Development Bank programme.

Some attendees who spoke to Ghana News Agency after the event said, they would take the call to work for NDC's victory in the upcoming elections seriously.

Mr Samuel Amedeka, one of them, said, “Like they kept saying, the election on December 7 is between Ghana and NPP and by all means, Ghana must win to be free from the current hardships.”
