Ghana Is No Country for Cowards; There Will Be No Surrender!

Feature Article Ghana Is No Country for Cowards; There Will Be No Surrender!
SAT, 02 NOV 2024

I was not the least bit impressed to read the news about the meeting that was recently held between the 2024 Running-Mate of Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, namely, Dr. Matthew Yaw Opoku-Prempeh - aka NAPO - and the so-called Eminent Persons Group of the Ghana Christian Council, during which the former Education and Energy Minister, respectively, was reported to have assured his guests, presumably, that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) intended to strictly uphold its established tradition of maintaining peace and stability during the upcoming landmark and watershed 2024 General Election (See “'Upholding peace and democratic values is NPP's track record' — NAPO” Modernghana.com 10/23/24).

Not in the least bit impressed by the patently vacuous pledge demand for peace by the Eminent Persons Group of the Christian Council because if, indeed, the members of the latter group of prominent and influential Ghanaian citizens was really interested in the peace and the prosperity of the country, they would have since long fiercely fought to ensure the prompt cessation of Galamsey, that is, illegal small-scale mining activities, that seriously threaten the very existence of the Ghanaian people as a nation.

You see, as legions of thinkers and philosophers around the world have not hesitated to point out, “peace” is not merely the absence of violence or war, but the maintenance of the kind of disciplinary conduct that ensures the ecological balance of our crisis-ridden and ecologically endangered global community. In just this past week or two, Ghanaians have witnessed the level of desperation and violence-fomenting constitutional crisis into which the leadership of the country’s main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is willing to recklessly plunge the country in order to wrest undeserved power from their much better and superior performing counterparts of the Akufo-Addo and the Bawumia-led government of the New Patriotic Party.

The leaders of the National Democratic Congress are deathly aware of the unarguable fact that they have no enviable performance track record on which to comfortably and competently campaign to be returned to Jubilee House, so they have determined that about the only alternative available to them is to nefariously misrepresent as well as to criminally misinterpret Ghana’s Fourth-Republican Constitution in order to force their will on the Ghanaian electorate. Even so, as one of their own associates sternly reminded them several days ago, any mischievous and/or dastardly attempt by the Johnson “The Mosquito” Asiedu-Nketia-ousted Mr. Haruna Iddrisu and his State-Capturing associates and cronies to bulldoze their way back to Jubilee House, will be promptly and fiercely met with the most appropriate and commensurate response.

In short, the end result will not be pleasant for both the perpetrators of wanton mischief and the entire nation at large. Ghanaian citizens will not brook any morally and intellectually insolent attempt to be returned to the soul-crushing era of Dumsor, that is, the perennially erratic supply of energy, that resulted in the criminal collapse of over 60-percent of Ghanaian businesses under four-and-half years of the protracted previous John “I Have No Classmates in Ghana” Dramani Mahama-led ragtag regime of the National Democratic Congress.

Then also the narcissistic and the kleptocratic leaders of the National Democratic Congress had better be rest assured that any buffoonish attempt to reprise the Techiman-South Ballot-Snatching Shenanigans of the Mahama and the Asiedu-Nketia Posse, as occurred in December 2020, is apt to result in a far worse outcome than the previous one. Ghana is not the exclusive patrimony or the private family property of any self-important individual Ghanaian citizen and must be strictly deemed as such. Or as New Yorkers are wont to say: “There will definitely be hell to pay in the breach!”

Ghanaian citizens and the electorate also need to be constantly reminded of the fact that but for the treasonous destruction of the Kwame Nkrumah-established seminal industrial engine that was the Ghana Industrial Holdings Corporation (GIHOC), comprised of some 140 factories and heavy industrial plants, by the State-Property Cannibalizing Leadership of the National Democratic Congress, to-day, Ghana would very well have become the foremost beacon of Africa’s Industrial Revolutionary Renaissance, as had been foresightedly and progressively envisaged by President Nkrumah. Which is why it must also come as criminally insulting to hear the very clinically retarded “Cash-and-Carry” Ideologues of the National Democratic Congress claiming to be the avatars of the immortalized Sage and Great Thinker of Nzema-Nkroful.
