Election 2024: Outline your own vision for Ghana and stop unnecessary attacks — Lawyer slams Mahama

Akwasi Lawyer Kwakye Serbeh, Convener of "Victory for Bawumia," has criticized the NDC, describing it as a visionless political party that allegedly waits for other parties to outline their policies before adopting similar ideas.

Citing the Free SHS policy as an example, Serbeh pointed out that the Mahama-led NDC initially dismissed the policy as unrealistic.

According to Serbeh, "This same Mahama who said the policy would never be possible is now trying to claim ownership. He even said there was no way he would invest 2 million cedis into policy. Now, what has changed? This same Mahama is claiming ownership after its implementation by the competent NPP government."

Serbeh warned Ghanaians against voting for Mahama, stating, "I'm telling Ghanaians not to make any mistake to vote for this same John Mahama whose mindsets are always full of impossibilities. We'll forever regret it if we choose such a person as our leader. We've seen works before, and we all know how incompetent he is."

He expressed concern about what he described as Mahama's attempt to rebrand the Free SHS policy to appeal to voters. He urged Ghanaians to place their hope and trust in Dr. Bawumia’s vision, asserting that Dr. Bawumia offers a strong future for Ghana.

Serbeh continued, "If you look at Bawumia's vision on education for instance, he has promised to give a laptop to every student who has completed school. This is really going to impact them more knowledge and as we all know the benefits when people's brains are filled with more knowledge. When you think of your stomach alone without considering the mind, you'll automatically get hungry."

Comparing promises made by the two candidates, he said, "All we know about Mahama is pledging for food. While Dr. Bawumia is seriously promising to provide a laptop, you'll hear John Mahama promising to give ice cream."

He also observed that when discussing voting intentions, "You're just journalists; when you ask people whom they are going to vote for and hear some of them talk about food and hunger, know where they are coming from. But, when you hear those who would say, we are voting for our children's future, know where they are also coming from."

Serbeh shared these remarks in an interview with the media during a program aimed at rallying Ghanaians to protect the Free SHS policy by supporting Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid.

The campaign float took place on the main streets of Kumasi and was led by the youth wing and beneficiaries of the Free SHS program. Key speakers included Miracles Aboagye, Kwabena Asamoah, Deputy MASLOC Director and Patron of Free SHS Beneficiaries, Raphael Sarfo Patrick, Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer, among other prominent figures, all advocating for Dr. Bawumia's presidency.
