Up until Akufo Addo and Bawumia took office in 2017, political assassinations were not a part of Ghanaian politics, therefore, the sudden deaths of Akua Donkor and John Kumah, as well as the vicious killings of J. B. Danquah-Edu and Ahmed Hussein-Suale, are unsettling murders that could happen to any Ghanaian. The political assassinations and unexpected deaths have received a lot of attention, but no thorough investigations have been conducted to identify the causes of death or those behind them.

The NPP government wants Ghanaians to realize that although the country is experiencing democracy, which allows everyone to voice their opinions, no government in Ghana's political history has repeatedly broken the Constitution, abused its power, and appointed a criminal judiciary that is tormenting and suppressing the people by judging cased against the people or the opposition, than the NPP. There is a murder squad that has declared its readiness to strike at any moment.

The assassination of Ahmed Hussein-Suale

Ghanaian journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants on January 16, 2019, in the Accra neighborhood, while responding to a call to visit his ailing child. This occurred after an NPP politician named Kennedy Agyapong threatened to kill him and posted his photo on national television, promising to compensate anyone who attacked and beat him up. The assassination of Mr. Hussein-Suale would be nine years in January 2025, yet the perpetrators are still at large.

Mr. Hussein-Suale, who collaborates with Anas Aremeyaw Anas, became an enemy following the investigation that exposed widespread corruption in Ghana’s football, which resulted in the retirement of Kwasi Nyantakyi, the chairman of the Ghana Football Association. Kwasi Nyantakyi stated in the documentary that he had "Akufo Addo, the president, in his pocket,” which indicates that the president is either aware of or behind the massive corruption in Ghana's football.

The assassination of NPP politician J. B. Danquah-Edu

A member of parliament for Abuakwa North in the Eastern Region, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Edu, was brutally killed at his home in Shiashie, an Accra suburb, in February 2016. Even though the deceased MP was an NPP politician, the police and President Akufo Addo have never been concerned enough about the circumstances surrounding his death to demand an investigation. Many people still wonder why Akufo Addo hasn't expressed any worry about the politician's passing.

It was while watching one of Kevin Taylor's shows on "Loud Silence TV" that I first realized why Danquah-Edu was murdered. Mr. Taylor claims that the president orchestrated his killing because the deceased politician gave him $15 million and refused to return the money. Kennedy Agyapong also confirmed that George Dampare was moved to lead a new position to avoid the case under investigation, thus; even though this may sound like a fairy tale, it is a fact that cannot be ignored.

This is why Akufo Addo appointed George Dampare, who was then not the IGP as Inspector General of Police, to discontinue or distance himself from the homicide case. More significantly, the deceased politician's killer confessed to Akufo Addo's involvement while incarcerated. As a result, the murders of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, J. B. Danquah-Edu, the NPP politician, and eight voters in Techiman South, have all been dismissed as cold cases and are still unresolved.

The sudden death of John Kumah

Many Ghanaians were shocked by the sudden passing of NPP politician John Kumah, who served as the deputy minister of finance. After a brief illness, the 45-year-old Member of Parliament passed away on March 7. There were allegations that he was poisoned since he experienced a severe stomach ache after eating a Guinea fowl meal, which progressed to severe health issues that ultimately led to his death. However, other NPP officials and the current administration denied the poisoning claims.

As wild allegations continue to circulate, the late MP's wife publicly stated "My husband battled a terminal disease, he didn't die from poisoning." Many believe that John Kumah died of food poisoning, but the NPP administration allegedly gave the deceased widow a sizable sum of money to lie. Whether it is true or not, what Ghanaians would like to know is why the NPP government and Akufo Addo are never interested in conducting a comprehensive probe into the deaths of any of their MPs.

The sudden death of Akua Donkor

Born in February 1952, Madam Akua Donkor was a politician and farmer from Ghana who founded and led the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP). Similar to John Kumah, Ghanaians were surprised by this woman's unexpected passing. Akua Donkor and one Kofi Apkpaloo demonstrated their interest in supporting the chairperson of the EC by appreciating their electoral crimes and frauds against the opposition during a recent Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting. They also painted the NDC as the bad party that was torturing the EC.

Since the ruling government's "Agyapadie's book" states that it will finance minor parties to the IPAC meeting to suppress and defeat the opposition, the acts of Akua Donkor and Kofi Akpaloo became evident. Another development had Akua Donkor claiming to have Mahama sued for criticizing the EC for disqualifying one presidential candidate but leaving others who didn't deserve to be disqualified in the contest, despite that Mahama didn’t mention anyone’s name.

In Ghana, rumors proliferate like an infection. Since Bernard Antwi-Bosiako claimed on the radio that he could do something to alter the NDC's number 8 on the ballots, many are accusing him of being the cause of Akua Donkor's death. By altering, it indicates that the NDC’s myth of breaking the eighth cycle and forcing the ruling party into the opposition will be aborted since the opposition’s number 8 on the ballot paper has had a psychological impact on the ruling government.

Even a decade won't be enough to repair the harm the NPP has done to Ghana and its citizens, despite its pledge to improve services. Businesses, investments, and the economy have all failed, but more significantly, the infrastructure has been devastated by crime, corruption, and illicit mining as a result of the government's carelessness and lawlessness. Due in part to Akufo Addo's carelessness, Ghana now has the most corrupt Supreme Court and Attorney General in its political history.

Akufo Addo is a lazy man who lacks a proper education; hence he prefers to do everything in his life through corruption or illegal means. He uses others to carry out his misdeeds and has turned against those who have severed ties with him. Since in the NPP’s government, there are always people willing to kill for power or commit crimes for the president's gain and the party's survival, Ghanaians can only be free and enjoy the peace they want if the party is overthrown.

"After Akua Donkor, J. B. Danquah-Edu, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, And John Kumah, who Is Next?" This is the question that every serious Ghanaian must ponder. Since Akufo Addo not only enjoys violence but also has the authority to order the assassination of anyone he deems a danger, nobody is secure in Ghana. Therefore, it's time to overthrow this awful administration and restore greatness to our country.
