Why Is Joyce Bawa Mogtari Calling Cousin Dramani a Liar?

Feature Article Why Is Joyce Bawa Mogtari Calling Cousin Dramani a Liar?
FRI, 01 NOV 2024

Anybody who has studiously followed the electioneering-campaign vaunts of the Serial and the Dynastic Presidential Candidate of the country’s main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), would have heard the twice-defeated, one-term former President John “I Have No Classmates in Ghana” Dramani Mahama claim that when it comes to the subject and the question of rural infrastructure development, he has absolutely no rival or match in Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

Which is why it ought to come as a sobering revelation and a withering exposé to hear Ms. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, cousin and career spokesperson for the Mahama Presidential Campaign bitterly complain about some operatives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) inducing some registered and eligible rural Ghanaian voters direly in need of infrastructure development and basic healthcare facilities, among dozens of other basic needs, with such “innocuous inducements as salt, pepper, kerosene and Maggi Cubes” (See “NPP inducing rural voters with salt, maggi cubes and kerosene — Joyce Bawah
Mogtari” Modernghana.com 10/30/24).

Rather amusing because just last year, in the wake of the scandalously rigged Presidential Primary Election of the National Democratic Congress, it came to light via the local Ghanaian media that Candidate Mahama had deliberately and strategically induced over 300,000 party delegates with GH¢50, apiece, to vote overwhelmingly in favor of the Bole-Bamboi native from the Akufo-Addo-created Savannah Region. Approximately, the latter payola package came up to the sum total of more than GH¢100 million, plus extra inducements parceled out to all the local and the regional executives of the National Democratic Congress. Even so, several of the executives of the latter political establishment were widely reported by the media to have pocketed some of the vote-buying inducement payolas for party delegates that had been deviously labeled as “Transportation Fares” for these otherwise disaffected Mahama delegates by the infamous “Shit-Bomber” and his cousin Joyce Bawa Mogtari.

So, why would career payola inducers or seducers like Candidate Mahama and Cousin Bawa Mogtari be bitterly and lamely complaining about the inducement of prospective voters by their main political opponents of the presently Mahamudu Bawumia-led New Patriotic Party? Or maybe it is because the operatives of the politically desperate National Democratic Congress suppose that, somehow, they are exclusively entitled to inducing prospective voters with such cheap commodity bauble items as salt, pepper, kerosene and Maggi Cubes?

Many of our younger readers may have either so soon forgotten or may not even be the least bit aware of the fact that in the fiercely fought leadup to the 2012 General Election, in particular the 2012 Presidential Election, the late Mr. Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, at the time the National Chairman of the then main opposition New Patriotic Party, brought to our national attention that the then Interim-President Mahama had gifted some Paramount Chiefs among the membership of the National House of Chiefs, who were at the time attending one of their annual regional conferences, with V8 vehicles and several herds of cattle and sheep and rams, once again, strategically and mischievously packaged and labeled as “Gifts of Appreciation.”

Which is why the bitter Facebook plaint by the Mahama cousin and dubious Post-Presidential Aide could at best be characterized as peevishly disingenuous. We must also not forget that it was under the watch of Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, the Mahama in-law and former Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and husband of Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the baby-pumping maternal machine of an IVF-produced set of triplets, when several state-owned and Ghanaian taxpayer-underwritten Ghana Medical Stores were deliberately and “symphonically” set ablaze all over the country, which clearly appeared to be the handiwork of some specially contracted professional arsonists in the pay of the seismically defeated leadership of the Mahama-skippered National Democratic Congress.

So, when Kid Sister Joyce Bawa Mogtari self-righteously bitches about the abject lack of health facilities in many rural communities in the country, the legally trained former Mahama-appointed Deputy Road-Transport Minister must be reminded about the fact that for 20 years, the leaders of the populist and the faux-socialist National Democratic Congress doggedly and scandalously pursued the Social Darwinian “Cash-and-Carry” Health Policy Agenda which resulted in the avoidable deaths of hundreds of thousands, if not at least a couple million Ghanaian citizens and residents.

In short, the leaders of the National Democratic Congress are not civically responsible politicians who really care about the destiny, the needs and the aspirations of the overwhelming majority of the Ghanaian people, besides themselves and their closest relatives and kinsmen and women. There was also a time within living memory, when the late Chairman Jeremiah “Jerry” John Rawlings-led National Democratic Congress was best known for its trademark distribution of headpans, machetes, lanterns and heavy-rubberized rain-boots to rural Ghanaian farmers whenever the election season came around and it was time for Ghanaian voters to renew their political mandate. So, really, the Mahama cousin was simply lamely preaching to the choir of her own National Democratic Congress’ Church of Cheap Propaganda Politics.
