President Kufuor Attends Mrs Affenyi's Thanksgiving

President John A. Kufuor led a high-powered Government delegation to the funeral thanksgiving of Mrs Charity Ekem Affenyi, 84, at the Sekondi Methodist Park in the Western Region over the Weekend.

Mrs Affenyi was the mother of Mrs Gifty Affenyi-Dadzie, a Member of the Council of State, the first female President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and National Prayer Director of the Women's Aglow Ministries.

Among the dignitaries were members of the Council of State, Diplomats, Regional Ministers, Regional and constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), District and Metropolitan Chief Executives.

The President on behalf of the various officials made a group donation of 33 million cedis towards the final funeral rites of late Mrs Affenyi.

Other sympathisers included Chiefs, the National and Regional executives of the Ghana Journalists Association, the Convention People's Party (CPP), voluntary groups and other well wishers.
