A management consultant, Mr. Ato Conduah, has said it was wrong for authorities at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to issue out appointment letters to employees without the corresponding conditions of service.

In an interview with Joy News, Mr. Conduah said the decision taken by the Korle-Bu Chief Executive, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng is hasty and should not have happened.

He said it is not too late for Prof. Frimpong-Boateng to rescind his decision and do the right thing. Mr. Conduah said the decision to dismiss the house officers is not in the public interest.

Meanwhile, Joy News has learnt that junior doctors asked by the Korle-Bu Hospital authorities to replace the dismissed house officers, were yet to start work.

The doctors were expected to start work on Wednesday. Sources close to the dismissed house officers have also denied reports that the house officers had re-applied. They say efforts to meet with the Chief Executive of the hospital, Prof. Frimpong Boateng has proved futile.

The house officers are expected to meet with the junior doctors next Tuesday to evaluate the situation and decide on the next line of action. Joy News has made several efforts to speak to Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng over the issues related to the house officers and other matters but on all occasions, he declined comment.
