Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has received overwhelming support from various Zongo communities in the Volta Region as he campaigns to become the country’s next President in the 2024 elections.
During his tour of the region, which began on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia visited over 10 constituencies, engaging with Zongo leaders, Imams, traditional rulers, and community members.
The reaction from the Zongo communities has been nothing short of enthusiastic.
In Hohoe, an Imam, speaking on behalf of the Zongo community, expressed their strong support and belief in Dr. Bawumia's leadership, saying, "By the grace of God, you will be the next President of Ghana.
“We are happy to have you here and we pray to God to help you. May God uplift you. We are behind you and we pray to God to grant you victory."
At Kpando, the Imam echoed similar sentiments, praising Dr. Bawumia for his generosity and development efforts.
He emphasized the community's gratitude and assured their backing for his presidential bid.
“Dr. Bawumia has done so much, and this is the time for us to express our gratitude with our thumbs,” he stated.
The support continued in Adaklu, where the Chief Imam assured Dr. Bawumia that the Zongo community is eagerly anticipating his swearing-in as President, while in Juapong, the community thanked him and the NPP for introducing Free SHS, which has greatly benefited their children’s education.
The Zongo communities in Vakpo and Ketu North also reaffirmed their support, dismissing any attempts to question Dr. Bawumia’s faith.
They assured him of their prayers and backing, confident in his ability to lead the nation to greater heights.
