The National Democratic Congress (NDC ) as a political party morphed from the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), a military government, has never fairly won any election in Ghana since its very inception. This assertion was first made publicly known by Mrs Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, the widow of late President Jerry John Rawlings, the Chairman and leader of PNDC and the founding father of NDC.
There is an Akan adage that says, “If a marine iguana emerges from underwater to announce to you about the death of mother crocodile, you don’t dispute it”. Why is this so? It is because it lives underwater with the crocodile. Therefore, if the wife of the founding father of NDC who was also the Head of State of the PNDC government from 31st December 1981 to 1992 and became the President of Ghana of the NDC government from 1992 to 2000, confidently publicly makes such a statement, who are we to doubt her?
My own empirical observations of the conduct of the NDC fraternity, go to reaffirm the claim made by the widow of former President Flt. Lt. J. J. Rawlings, Mrs Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
The NDC are always lying about things. They lie to the public and their audiences about what they can do to better the nation and the conditions of living of the citizens. They lie to the public about the capabilities, abilities, and achievements of their political opponents in power.
If it were not so, they wouldn’t have the structure of propaganda outfit with propaganda secretary in their party.
It is by their many lies, tricks, and coercive ability to take Ghanaians for fools, instilling chill-inducing fear in them, that they are dubiously able to emerge winners in some elections.
If you ride on lies, intimidations to the people and unnecessary resorts to threats of murder, kidnapping, arsons, etc. to win an election, have you fairly won that election?
In the days of late President Rawlings as leader of the NDC, ballot boxes were alleged to be loaded with ballots in favour of the NDC and sneaked into some polling stations to enable the NDC and himself win the election. No wonder that his wife who knew everything and was probably a conniver and condoner, was able to come out to make that bold declaration as mentioned above.
Did late President Rawlings not once warn or advise late President Professor Mills to not tell Ghanaians the truth during electioneering campaigns but the big, sweet lies that will persuade Ghanaians to vote for him?
Has former President Mahama, currently the NDC presidential candidate for election 2024 not said the same thing? He said to his Voltarian audience when on a campaign platform that during elections, he will tell them a little truth, and some lies provided the sweet lies will turn the hearts of his hearers toward him to vote for him.
With all these said coupled with arranging minors and moving foreigners from Togo and the Ivory Coast to vote for them, how can anyone convincingly say to me that the NDC have ever genuinely won election in Ghana?
In every election including that of 2024’s, the NDC led by Mr John Dramani Mahama are beating the usual war drums, threatening to rain hail and brimstone on Ghanaians should himself and NDC not win the upcoming 7 December 2024 election.
Why at all will NDC visit our cocoa farmers on their farms to lie to them about the NPP government going to tax them on emission of smoke from burning the weeds and debris of chopped trees in preparation of their new lands for farming? How could they so shamelessly callously take our hardworking cocoa farmers for fools, simply because they desperately need their votes to win election to come to power to lord themselves over the poor farmers and Ghanaians?
The NDC have truly never fairly won any election in Ghana. They can’t play politics on a level playing field of decency, truth and innovation, the adoration of Dr Alhaji Bawumia of NPP. They always prefer doing gutter politics spearheaded by Sammy Gyamfi, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Fiifi Kwetey, Okudzeto Ablakwah and others of their ilk.
NDC, is it true that you have never genuinely won any election in Ghana without resort to foul play?
I end by appealing to cocoa farmers to not vote for Mr Mahama and NDC for continually lying to them on intent to win their support and votes so cheaply, taking them for imbeciles.
