The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has reassured the public that all issues with the 2024 Provisional Voter Register have been addressed.

After a meticulous two-week review, the EC says it has corrected any discrepancies, ensuring that the electoral roll is now accurate and reliable.

This development follows concerns raised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which had called for a forensic audit of the provisional register.

Speaking during a live broadcast at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, October 15, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa assured the public that the Commission has taken the necessary steps to rectify the anomalies.

Jean Mensa, addressing the gathered political representatives and the general public, stressed that the EC has worked diligently to clean the voter register.

She said the Commission’s dedication to ensuring that every registered voter is properly accounted for was central to this effort.

"Over the last two weeks, we have spent our energies to clean the voter register and to ensure that the information presented is accurate. Simply put, we have worked to ensure that every applicant who registered in 2023/2024 is on the voter register," Jean Mensa stated.

She also highlighted that the revised Provisional Voter Register marks a significant improvement over the earlier version that had raised concern during the exhibition exercise. According to her, the EC's efforts have largely resolved all the discrepancies that had been identified.

From October 15 to October 19, the EC has granted registered voters another opportunity to check their details online. This additional verification period allows voters to re-check their information and report any lingering issues at their local district offices.

The EC’s move ensures that all registered voters will have ample opportunity to confirm that their data is correct, further reinforcing the accuracy of the final voter register.

The EC's submission to a forensic audit is the only thing that can validate Jean Mensa's claim of correction since it would be insane for any Ghanaian to trust a woman like her whose husband is a full NPP politician who served under John Kufuor's administration.
