The Ghana Police Service has refuted claims circulating on social media that Ghanaian media personality and journalist Serwaa Amihere has been arrested.

According to a statement released by the Police on Tuesday, October 15, the image purportedly showing her arrest is not real but rather a still from a music video.

The viral image, which sparked widespread rumors, is actually from a scene in a music video by gospel artist Piesie Esther, per sources.

In their statement, the Police clarified the matter, urging the public to disregard the misinformation.

“The Ghana Police Service has not arrested Serwaa Amihere. Our investigation indicates that the picture circulating online is from a music video,” the statement reads in part.

The Police further cautioned against the spread of false information, emphasizing the importance of verifying facts before sharing them online.

They reiterated their commitment to providing the public with accurate and timely information.

“We, therefore, urge the public to disregard this misinformation and disinformation,” the statement concluded.

Serwaa Amihere, a well-known figure in the media industry, has not yet commented on the incident.

The clarification from the Police, however, aims to quell any rumors regarding her alleged arrest, which have been spreading rapidly across various social media platforms.
