Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana) has condemned the violent clash between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi on Sunday, October 14.
In a press release, the Foundation said the incident is not just troubling but very appalling.
“Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana) unequivocally condemns the bloody clash between supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi on Sunday, 13th October, 2024.
“We strongly protest the sporadic shootings in which some citizens were injured with life-threatening wounds. Indeed, this appalling act of violence is not an isolated incident; in recent years political violence has become the order of the day in Ghana. In fact, the frequency of such troubling incidents resulting from impunity casts a shadow of doubt on Ghana's fledgling democracy,” CFF-Ghana said in its release.
The Foundation argued that the recurring political violence demands an urgent need for government to fully implement the Anti-Vigilantism law to sanitize the system in a genuine bid to prevent future violent political clashes.
It wants the Ghana Police Service to as a matter of urgency arrest recalcitrant individuals involved in the melee and ensure justice for the victims.

Accra, Ghana; Tuesday, 15th October, 2024:
Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana) unequivocally condemns the bloody clash between supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi on Sunday, 13th October, 2024.
We strongly protests the sporadic shootings in which some citizens were injured with life-threatening wounds. Indeed this appalling act of violence is not an isolated incident; in recent years political violence has become the order of the day in Ghana. In fact, the frequency of such troubling incidents resulting from impunity casts a shadow of doubt on Ghana's fledgling democracy.
The recurring of political violence demands an urgent need for government to fully implement the Anti-Vigilantism law to sanitize the system in a genuine bid to preventing future violent political clashes.
We call on the Ghana Police Service to as a matter of urgency arrest recalcitrant individuals involved in the melee and ensure justice for the victims.
We further call on government and other electoral stakeholders including political parties, the National Peace Council, and development partners among others to take the early warning signs of electoral violence serious with a view of putting in place robust mitigation measures to preventing same so far as the 2024 eletions are concerned.
