In a statement issued by Prof. Atta Mills office, the NDC"s presidential candidate said he is been deeply touched by the plight of the people of Tamale, who have become internally displaced persons as a result of the destruction of their homes by the rains that hit Tamale recently.
He said apart from homes and personal property that got destroyed, the situation hits harder as schools and other buildings that serve the public, have also been badly affected by the storm and adversely affecting the day to day activities of the people of Tamale.
Prof Mills said "I share in the anguish of our brethren who have been affected by the storm and appeal to institutions and individuals that are in a position to help, to extend a hand either in cash, kind, or both, as our brethren make strenuous efforts to pick up the pieces.
