
The Ghana Police Service has announced that it has commenced investigations into the fatal accident that occurred at East Legon in Accra over the weekend.
The accident which occurred on Saturday, October 12, resulted in the death of two people.
In the Police press release, it indicated that the suspected driver has been identified as Salifu Amoako.
“The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into an accident that occurred on Saturday, 12th October 2024, at East Legon in Accra, leading to the death of two persons.
“Preliminary Police investigation indicates that the suspect driver, identified as Salifu Amoako, rammed his vehicle into another vehicle on Dzanie Ashie Street at East Legon. Both vehicles caught fire and burnt beyond recognition,” parts of the press release from the Police said.

The release noted that the suspect driver and other surviving victims are currently receiving medical attention.
Meanwhile, one of the surviving victims has since been treated and discharged, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
