Elections EC to re-exhibit Provisional Voters Register online from October 15-19 for public verification
MON, 14 OCT 2024

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will re-exhibit the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) online, starting from Tuesday, October 15, to Saturday, October 19.

This initiative will allow registered voters to review their details and report any discrepancies for correction.

The EC's decision follows its commitment during the Special Interparty Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on October 1, where it assured the public that the revised PVR would be re-exhibited online.

This exercise aims to ensure accuracy ahead of the upcoming elections.

According to a statement released on Monday, October 14, the EC outlined how voters can access their details for verification.

"From Tuesday, 15th October, voters can check their details via short code *711*51# free of charge," the EC said in a release.

Additionally, the Commission noted that voters could also verify their information through the EC’s official website: https://ec.gov.gh. Upon visiting the website, voters should click on the pop-up link located at the bottom-right corner of the screen and enter their 10-digit Voter ID number to retrieve their registration details.

The EC emphasized the importance of reporting any discrepancies: “The public should note that any discrepancies identified must be reported to the District Office of the Commission where they are registered voters for correction.”

However, once the Re-Exhibition Exercise ends on Saturday, October 19, voters will still be able to view their details online but will no longer be able to request corrections.

Political parties are also required to play an active role in this process.

The EC has provided them with a specific template to report any discrepancies found during the re-exhibition period.

The re-exhibition exercise is part of the EC’s efforts to ensure that the voter register is accurate and up to date, thereby promoting transparency and credibility in the electoral process leading to the December 7 polls.
